TV Ratings: 'Voice' Live Show Falls, 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'Castle' Surge

CBS

"How I Met Your Mother"

The audition rounds continue to be The Voice's bread and butter. The NBC show segued into live competition on Monday night, shedding seven-tenths of a point for a season low 3.6 rating among adults 18-49. The Blacklist (2.9 adults), down two-tenths, was also at a season low and suffered a significant dip in its second half-hour -- though NBC still locked down an easy nightly win the demo with an average 3.4 rating. The network lost viewers to ABC, averaging 11.2 million viewers.

Bones (2.0 adults) and Sleepy Hollow (2.5 adults) both shed two-tenths of a point in their return from the MLB hiatus, the latter hitting a season low. Fox averaged a second place 2.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 6.98 million viewers.

Dancing With the Stars (2.1 adults) was even on ABC, while Castle (2.4 adults) improved three-tenths of a point at 10 p.m. ABC, topping with 13.6 million viewers, also averaged a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49. (The network's scores may be adjusted when football interruptions in Green Bay are taken into account.)

How I Met Your Mother (3.4 adults) saw the night's biggest growth, improving four-tenths of a point from last week. It marked the first time the show bested The Voice in its common half-hour this season. 2 Broke Girls (2.6 adults) lost a tenth of a point, leading into the return of Mike & Molly (2.6 adults). And while the comedy was off a half-point from its last season, it improved the time slot by 8 percent. Mom (2.0 adults) lost a tenth of a point with its new lead-in, and Hostages (1.1 adults) dropped another tenth from last week. CBS took a 2.1 adults rating and 7.1 million viewers for the night.

Both Hart of Dixie (0.4 adults) and Beauty and the Beast (0.3 adults) held even on The CW, giving the net a 0.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 852,000 viewers for the night.
